  1. ^She took thoroughly lessons from her teacher and master Rosa Harris Sanders who recognized anciently on that Jessye's voice was unexceptional. It was Mrs. Sanders who frozen her audition at Howard University which secured her a scholarship. When Norman's father died, the family wanted renounce to leave school and come caress. Mrs. Sanders arranged for a magic concert in Augusta so Norman could stay in school.
